We are hard at work in the Computer Lab for the next few weeks with a typing contest and making a cartoon video of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The kids are loving not just learning their home row keys, but also the challenge of beating me at the game as well. So practice up on your Home Row Typing Ninga Game. Make sure you are Charlie and the Chocolate Factory so you help us with our video each week! So much fun. If you have a Kindergarten students they are learning that each finger has a special key on the keyboard. They are loving it!!
Last week was a National Hour of Code. All grades participated. They are loved it!! You can go to code.org to learn more. They did their 1 Hour of Code during computer lab. Have your child tell you what they have learned. You might be surprised! I could not be more proud. We will continue coding throughout the year! Help us Celebrate! We LOVE our Custodians!
This week in the Computer Lab 1st-4th grades worked on Google presentations. We are discovering how we can use our Google Drives to create amazing projects from Habitats to Land forms. So exciting! Ask you child to show you what they are working on!

4th through 1st did a Touchcast and Kindergarten did Little Bird Tales. They all created their own version of Charlotte's Web and created a comic. They learned how to turn their comic into a picture, created folders, renamed their files, and uploaded to their Google Drives! They all did a great job. Kindergarten learned how to copy and paste into a separate location. So proud of our WE students! This week in the computer lab the 3rd and 4th Grade classes are creating a Google Site. We will spend the next several weeks making their sites awesome. The 1st Grade will be logging into their Google drive for the 1st time. Can't wait to see their pumpkin presentations! The 2nd is working on a Rock project. We are find rocks and then making an educreation presentation about their findings. What a great group project! MAP testing this week!!
